Have you ever been in a situation where you need money now. If you have ever wondered if it was possible to make money fast without applying for a new job, keep reading. Do you need cash now? If so, go through this list and find the easiest ways to put money in your pocket in a few hours. Some of these will give you better cash flow than others and some even enough to cover your monthly obligations or a debt you may owe. If you are in ‘hot water’ and need to get that annoying creditor of your line then really look into the list I put together. They will 100% get you through challenging times.

1. Conducting Online Surveys

If you are in need of some cash, exchanging your time to conduct online surveys can be a great way to earn some cash. Companies will pay you for your opinions. There are numerous companies out there who offer cash for surveys, but my favourite survey site with a good track record is Swagbucks. You can get paid up to £20 per survey and they even have a mobile app. Earning money from taking surveys is super easy and enjoyable if you dedicate the time for it.

Check out www.swagbucks.com

2. Tutor Online or In Person

One of my favourite ways to make money is tuition. I tutored for two years consistently on weekends as a side hustle and made around £300 every weekend, which is an additional £1,200 per month all from teaching English language to students from ages 5-16 years old. The greatest thing about teaching is you can teach whatever subject you have skillset in, you can also teach online provided the parents or adult you are teaching doesn’t have a issue with online learning.

If you are interested in teaching online I would recommend you check out the following websites: Tutorfair, Tutorful and Udemy.

3. Work on Upwork/Fiver

Both Upwork and Fiver work quite similarly. They are both the homes for freelancers and are the go-to platforms in the gig economy space. Small business owners and influencers regularly visit these websites to outsource graphic design, writers, social media management, seo experts, video editing and other skillsets necessary to dominate in the online marketing space. I personally do not believe you need to be an expert to set up an account and start selling. I recently met a Fiver seller on Clubhouse and they made over £500 in their first month by simply selling custom clubhouse profile picture avatars (you could download Canva and start making these, build a small portfolio, join clubhouse and start contacting people asking if they would be interested in your services). Learn more about digital marketing jobs here.

4. Drive with Bolt or Uber

Bolt and Uber are well known in the UK for low cost, safe and convenient taxi. You can get a ride in minutes, or you can be a driver and drop people to their destinations. In America, you can sign up to Lyft too. All three of these platforms are great to quickly earn money once you have registered and been accepted as a driver.

5. Rent Your Car on Turo or Getaround

Instead of going to a car rental company like Hertz, people are turning to car sharing platforms like Turo and Getaround. This means that if you have a car just sitting on your drive, you could easily allow it to start paying for itself and even leave you with some profit once you have deducted your running costs. Turo allows car renters to look at all cars advertised by hosts once they enter their post code or zip code. They can select an available car, book a time slot for collection and drive away in a few hours.

6. Sell Old Books and Games on Amazon

We all have items we no longer use or want anymore. Why not sell it? By posting some of your old books and xbox 360 games you can make some money by simply offloading things that are dated. You can sell items on Amazon or Facebook Marketplace to quickly make some money.

7. Do Tasks on TaskRabbit

If you are the handy person of your family and you have a natural gift to easily assemble Ikea furniture, why not sign up to TaskRabbit? You can easily make an extra $100 by doing some of the featured tasks most people need help with from: Furniture Assembly, Garden Work,  Removal Services and more.

8. Ride for Deliveroo or Uber Eats

Online food delivery has gained popularity and I do not see this trend dying. People want things fast, we all like a little bit of fast food every now and then so why not make money by delivering food with Deliveroo or Uber Eats? Deliveroo and Uber eats drivers and riders earn up to £8.91 per hour for Assistant to £14.34 per hour for Delivery Person. The average Deliveroo salary ranges from approximately £11,436 per year for Courier to £25,000 per year for Delivery Person.

9. Rent Your Living Room

Strapped for cash? Why not rent your living room per night with AirBNB? You could easily make an extra £30-100+ simply from renting your living room. Depending on your home, location you can earn some quick bucks by simply downloading the app and becoming a host.

10. Post a Bedroom on SpareRoom

Similar to the above, you could also get a long term lodger and rent a spare bedroom. Rooms can be rented from £300-800 with bills included in most places in London and neighbouring communities outside the M25.

11. Sell on Etsy

If you are a creative, selling custom items on Etsy can earn you a full-time income. Join The Etsy Creative Marketplace where there are Millions of Shoppers looking for items from custom balloons, maternity clothing to customised tea cups.

12. Answer Questions on JustAnswer

People looking for expertise online. JustAnswer (and several sites like it) allow doctors, lawyers, engineers and others with enhanced knowledge to earn a small income merely answering questions from people who would otherwise have to pay a hefty sum for those answers.

This platform is a great resource for people. It’s also lucrative (for the time spent) if you’re looking to earn a bit of cash in a hurry. Don’t expect to get rich answering questions, but you can generate a few bucks here or there if you’re in a bind.

13. Walk Dogs

There are networks devoted connecting dog owners with dog walkers. Rover is one of the largest networks of dog walkers out there. Of course, you could also use social media or just knock-on neighbours’ doors to advertise your services, but you can easily use one of these services.

Do a great job if you’re serious about building a track record of solid reviews. That will help you make money in the future when you’re in desperate need of it.

14. Mate Your Dogs

Ok, so this one may take slightly longer than a day to get up and running in all honesty, but it can pay huge dividends if done correctly. A dog breeding business can make you a lot of capital, but it all depends on the quality of the dogs and how many litters it breeds in a year. A high-end breeder may have just four litters a year but sell their dogs for £2,500 each. If each litter had six dogs, the business would have an annual revenue of £60,000. Mastiffs, Chow Chows and The Japanese Shiba Inu attract a £1500+ price tag per puppy.

15. Sell Photos

Have an eye for photography? Of course, you need to be good at this to earn any money but it you are, you can sell photos on Shutterstock or iStockPhoto (along with many others) to generate a passive income from something you might be very passionate about. For a quicker way to earn by taking photos, solicit people looking for photographers to cover their wedding, engagement, child’s birthday or any other life event. You’ll need a good camera and some experience, but you can definitely earn some must-needed income this way no matter where you live.

16. Sell Videos

Got content on your camera in video format? Did you know you can sell stock videos, loops and motion graphics on Adobe, Pexels and Shutterstock and start earning money.

17. Sell Music

Youtubers like myself love background music. Youtubers and other creators often buy background music, so if you create beats why not sell them on Epidemic Sounds?

18. Become a Personal Trainer

If you understand fitness, you could be a personal trainer. People pay good money for personal trainers, if only to have someone keep them on track towards their goals. You can add value while also helping yourself financially.

This could also break off into nutrition and assisting people with meal plans, and so on. You could solicit clients in your local gym, but depending on where you live, you might need some certification to do this (not to mention the gym’s approval). You could also use a site like Fitness Trainer to advertise your services.

19. Online Coach

If you are a subject matter expert in a particular field, why not provide online coaching. If you already have a following across social media, simply set up a calendly.com or an acuityscheduling page and set up 1-2-1 sessions with people interested to learn from you. Coaching can be provided one to one or in group sessions. Earnings can range from £50-1000+ and later can be monetised via an online course.

20. House Clean

There’s a variety of platforms online that you could tap into for doing this, or you could simply scour your neighbourhood or post on social media. You could use Amazon’s Home Services for this as well, or you could create your own simple, one-page website to advertise.

Either way, this is a terrific way to make upwards of $20 per hour or more doing a job that’s often in high demand. You could easily make this a long-term gig if you perform well and don’t cut corners.

21. Wash Cars

Car washing and detailing can make you good returns on a weekend. If you decide to go full scale, invest in a van and cleaning equipment you could make this business a full-time income source.

22. Landscaping/Gardening

Mowing lawns and landscaping can be a side hustle or a full-time business. If you go on gumtree.com you can even find cash in hand roles that start at £40 roughly to clean up residential and commercial premises. If you want to take things to another level, you can provide landscaping services which is a skill you would need to learn as design plays a big role in creating a layout for clients.

23. Door to Door SalesMan

Door to door salesmen opportunities can be found on totaljobs.com in the UK and even on CWJobs. There are numerous sales roles which are commission only which tend to be either telesales or door to door sales.

24. Sell Vintage Clothes

Vintage clothes are usually well sort after and usually trend depending on seasonal trends and celebrity inspiration. You’ll likely get paid by the pound but it’s some money, so if you’re in need, then why not — especially if you have no use for those clothes anymore. This works best for things like maternity clothes, old children’s clothes, clothes that you haven’t worn in years or are simply out of style.

25. Do a Carboot sale

If you live in a neighbourhood with any type of foot or car traffic, there’s no reason you can’t have a garage sale today. And thanks to the internet, you can advertise your sale on Facebook Marketplace and sites like craigslist.org for free.

If you have clothes and electronics to add to your sale, that’s even better! The more stuff you can sell, the better off you’ll be, you will make money fast.

26. Get a Small Microloan

You can get a small business loan (very small) on Fundera, or Prosper if you’re looking for a very small personal loan. Depending on your credit and your financial and employment situations, you can secure up to a few thousand dollars like this.

There are loads of platforms that offer these small microloans. You have to pay them back, but it can help if you’re in a bind.

27. Lead Walking Tours on Viator

If you live in a tourist locale, consider doing walking tours on Viator, which is one of the largest platforms for tour operators in the world. You’ll really need to work hard to get a good reputation. To find clients quickly offer free tours and ask for tips at the end.

This is leveraging the principle of reciprocity with the power of free. People love to get things for free, but they feel obligated at the end to give something in return. That’s why supermarkets are always giving away food. They know if you like it, you’ll buy it.

28. Pawn Your Valuables

Pawn shops offer quick cash for items you don’t want yet offer just a fraction of the actual value of your item. Items that can help you score big at a pawn shop include things like guns, jewellery, and electronics, although other items might work well, too.

I once had dreams of being the next Led Zeppelin and saved to buy a Fender guitar. You know how many times I played it? Maybe two. Recognizing I wouldn’t be taking the main stage anytime soon, I was able to get some of my money back at a local pawn shop.

29. Be a Street Performer

If you can sing, perform physical stunts, play the guitar or a piano, or do standup comedy, you could feasibly do it by the side of the road for cash, right? At the very least, you could give it a whirl!

No matter what your “skill” is, you could probably earn at least some money for performing in an area with lots of street traffic. Make sure to sit out a bucket or hat to let people know you’re taking donations and let the good times roll.

30. Barber

If you know how to do a fade, line up a goatee or a beard why not buy some clippers and start trimming your friends/family. Once you build a reputation and your network is content with your work, you will get referrals. Once again, this type of side hustle can lead to a full-time business.

31. Hairstyling

Hair styling is a six-figure business and there are established companies that also turn over millions. You can learn a course on braiding, colouring, dyeing hair and make a full-time business out of hairstyling. This is a good route how to make money fast as a woman who has a big network and friends or relatives that live close by.

32. Manicure and Pedicure

A manicure and a pedicure set costs around £50, however some styles can start from £70 with certain styles and colours. If you have the equipment at home, this could be a lucrative side hustle for some quick cash.

33. Babysit Children

Chances are, someone you know needs some childcare within the next few days. By placing an ad on Facebook or messaging some friends, you may be able to score a fairly quick babysitting gig.

Babysitters charge different rates, but you should be able to earn at least $7 or $8 per hour. Even if you only babysit three hours, that’s at least $21 in your pocket in the next few days.

34. Buy and Resell Jordan’s & Hype Beast Clothing on Shpock

Sneaker reselling is one of the top 5 side hustles for 2021. I do not see this trend dying in future years also. Sneaker culture has always been a thing but due to hip hop culture a pair of exclusive Jordan’s can be won at raffle for £150 and resold for £3000+. If you are looking for a pair of Travis Scott’s recent collab with Jordan’s at resale you would be looking to outlay grands all for a trainer that originally could be bought for under £300…

35. Meal Prep Service

If you enjoy cooking, gym lovers may be your ideal customers. For those wanting to lose weight and build muscle the rule of thumb is diet is responsible for 80% of the results, while the activity in the gym is only 20%. Selling healthy meals such as chicken breast, sweet potato with broccoli and combinations of protein-based meals could rake you in £100’s per month…

36. Manage a Facebook/IG/Linkedin Social Media Page

All business owners want leads, exposure and new customers. However, most business owners don’t have the time to focus on marketing while running the actual operation which gives you an opportunity to make some money…

Conclusion

If you need money now, chances are good one of these suggestions will provide the immediate influx of cash you need. If you understand delayed gratification, investing in dividend stocks are also a good option. Think about your day to day routine and elements of your routine you don’t like doing and wish you could outsource. If you can think of something like maybe doing the laundry, cleaning or something else, the probability of someone else feeling the same is high and therefore you have a service you can now provide for a fee.

When it comes to earning money, some skill and a little creative thinking can go a long way.
